Ibrahim Laptops
Rebuilding a Lahore laptop store from the audit up
A full rebuild of a used-laptop store in Lahore: a storefront search engines can read, a checkout the server prices, and an admin dashboard with inventory and automatic product listing.
The Problem
Ibrahim Laptops is a used-laptop shop in Lahore whose online store ran on three separate codebases: a storefront, an API and an admin dashboard. The store looked modern, but our audit found 62 issues underneath, four of them critical. The homepage told visitors no products were available while 48 laptops sat in stock, orders trusted whatever price the browser sent and never took stock down, and the whole site rendered in the browser, so Google and WhatsApp previews saw an empty page.
What We Delivered
- 1
An audit before any redesign: 62 findings ranked by severity across security, checkout, SEO and accessibility, with the critical ones hot-fixed that week and the rest used as the checklist for the rebuild.
- 2
A server-rendered Next.js storefront with real titles, descriptions and structured data on every product, a live sitemap, and collection pages built around how people in Pakistan actually search: by price, by model, by spec and by area of Lahore.
- 3
A checkout the server prices: every order is recalculated from the product and the RAM and storage upgrades chosen, stock is taken down atomically, and each customer gets an order number and a tracking page. Bank transfer receipts go to private storage the admin opens through short-lived links.
- 4
The API moved from MongoDB to PostgreSQL with versioned migrations, validated and sanitised input, an admin sign-in and rate limits, plus customer accounts, saved carts, abandoned-cart reminders and email alerts to the shop for every order and message.
- 5
An admin dashboard that runs the shop: an order workflow with history, inventory backed by a stock ledger, suppliers and purchase orders, CSV export and cookie-free visitor analytics.
- 6
An automatic lister that turns a supplier stock sheet into live listings: units are grouped by model and spec, photos are found on the web, cut out with an on-device background-removal model and published straight to the store.
