Cadence Task Tracker

A Calm, Fast Task Tracker With A Rhythm For Your Day.

The Problem

Most Task Apps Either Cram A Desktop Layout Onto A Phone Or Strip The Phone Experience Down To A List. The Goal For Cadence Was A Fast, Focused Tracker, Priorities, Scheduled Reminders, A Rhythm For The Day, That Feels Genuinely Native On Both A Laptop And A Phone, While Keeping Each User’s Data Private.

What We Built

Cadence Renders Genuinely Separate Component Trees For Phones And Laptops (Switched At 768px), Not One Reflowed Markup: A Two-Column Desktop Workspace With A Sticky Sidebar And Card Grid, And A Mobile Layout With An App Bar, Scrolling Filter Rail, Floating Compose Button And Slide-Up Sheet.

All Shared State And Behaviour Lives In A Single Hook, So Both Layouts Stay Purely Presentational. The Backend Is Supabase (Postgres + Auth) With Per-User Row-Level Security; It Supports Email/Password And Google Sign-In Plus A Password-Reset Flow.

The App Degrades Gracefully, If Supabase Isn’t Configured It Falls Back To A Local-Only Mode So It Always Runs, And Ships As An Android App Via Capacitor With Local Notifications For Reminders.

Key Highlights

  • Separate, Hand-Built Desktop And Mobile Layouts
  • Supabase Postgres + Auth With Per-User Row-Level Security
  • Email/Password And Google Sign-In + Password Reset
  • Local-Only Fallback When No Backend Is Configured
  • Native Android Build Via Capacitor With Local Notifications
